    This large rock sits a few feet away from our cabin. It is a perfect example of the diversity of growth in the Boreal Forest. Many varieties of lichens and mosses, as well as ferns thrive on this rock, an eco-system on its own.

    Exploring the south shore of the lake, we happened upon an animal skull, laying on the forest floor long enough to allow rich moss growth to almost completely cover it.
